COURSE CURRICULUM

ELIGIBILITY & ENROLMENT

Enrolling in our white card course in Whyalla is easy!  It requires no previous academic achievements, making it perfect for newcomers to the industry or those planning to join it.

Nevertheless, students must meet certain basic White Card training prerequisites before they can enrol. Each student is responsible for ensuring they comply with the following necessary criteria:

  • Be 14 years old or over. Any student under the age of 18 must submit a Parental Consent Form before commencing training.
  • All students will require a USI Number before enroling. To create your Free USI number visit www.usi.gov.au.
  • Photo ID to be presented on the day
  • Consent to a photo on the day of head, neck, and shoulders
  • Be able to locate and recognise numbers commonly used in safety signs.
  • Communicate effectively by asking questions to clarify instructions and identify a construction problem or hazard.
  • Read and follow simple pictorial safety instructions and simple safety instructions written in English.
  • You must notify the office if you need any additional literacy or numeracy support
  • Complete pre-course learning and pre-course quiz
  • Enrolment is open to those already enrolled in a main course with a CRICOS-registered provider
  • Hold a student visa that allows for additional short course enrollment (verification with the Department of Home Affairs is advised prior to enrolment).
  • Students must satisfy the language skill requirements as per the Migration (IMMI 18/015: English Language Tests and Evidence Exemptions for Subclass 500 (Student) Visa) Instrument 2018
  • Pass the LLN assessment provided by Skills Training College, where English language test exemptions are applicable.
