FIRST AID COURSE CEDUNA

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is ideal for acquiring the abilities necessary for reacting to crises, injuries, and other dangerous situations.

Your teacher will show you how to provide an effective first aid response by washing and bandaging injuries, using an Epi-Pen, grasping the significance of the recovery position, administering basic emergency life support, and effectively communicating information about the incident to the response team over the phone. Our first aid training courses will educate you on how to safely deal with the following situations:

  • Vomiting
  • Choking
  • Asthma
  • Bleeding
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Shock
  • Broken bones
  • Dislocation, fractures, sprains, and strains

Our first aid certification sessions include three hours of instructor-led training, comprising readings, talks, demonstrations, and hands-on training exercises, followed by assessment delivered both practically and through a written exam. Upon completion of the course, you will receive a nationally acknowledged first aid certificate demonstrating your freshly gained skills and expertise.

WHO NEEDS A FIRST AID COURSE?

Everyone should learn first aid, and its importance cannot be emphasised. Taking a first aid training course will equip you with the ability to assist when needed most. Situations requiring first aid can arise anywhere and at any time, including at home, workplaces, on the street, and in schools. By taking this essential training, when help is most required you’ll be able to step in and assist.

People working in all careers and industries, not just medical and healthcare, should know how to administer first aid. A first aid certification is helpful in any occupation as first aid situations can arise anywhere and without warning. Group bookings are available and are perfect for families, friend groups, or any business owner who wishes to train their whole staff.

CPR Course Ceduna

Throughout HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation students will gain knowledge on how to identify cardiac arrest and effectively treat those in need by performing resuscitation.

First aid training already covers CPR, but CPR is also its own, distinct field. If you want to be able to help in an emergency but are not qualified to perform CPR, or if you can’t fit a full first aid course into your busy schedule, a CPR training is an excellent choice.

By taking a CPR course, you can learn how to perform CPR on any unconscious casualty, including both adults and children. You can also learn memory tricks to help you retain the necessary skills over time. The 90-minute in-person course ends with you receiving a nationally recognised statement of attainment.

CEDUNA CPR REFRESHER COURSE

The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends annual cardiopulmonary resuscitation training to maintain current knowledge of CPR procedures. Organisations often require periodic retraining to ensure compliance with their first aid policies. If you ever find yourself in an emergency circumstance where you must perform CPR, you should be able to do it instinctively.

ENROLMENT & ELIGIBILITY

Skills Training College’s first aid and CPR courses have minimal requirements which need to be completed in order to attend. There are no academic or professional criteria to enrol. However, all students must meet the following requirements:

  • Course materials, instruction, and assessment tasks require basic written and verbal English skills.
  • The minimum age for students is 18. Younger students can apply with the approval of their parents or guardians.
  • Students need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. If you’ve studied before, you should already have one, and if you can’t remember it, you can easily discover it by looking it up online.
  • Basic degrees of fitness and physical competency.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Although a first-aid certification never technically expires, it is encouraged to update one’s knowledge on a regular basis. It is strongly advised that you do refresher training every three years to make sure your skills and knowledge are up to date, as first aid procedures are always changing.

To ensure that your knowledge is still applicable, Skills Training College offers first aid refresher courses.

As with a first aid certificate, a CPR accreditation does not expire, though it must be maintained through regular refresher training. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends yearly CPR refresher training.

If your first aid or CPR certification has been stolen or misplaced, contact us and we’ll walk you through the process of getting a replacement.

Upon completion of a first aid training course, there are several chances to continue studying about first aid. First aid for education and childcare settings and remote first aid are two more training possibilities. Other examples include:

HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting.

HLTAID013 Provide First Aid at a remote or isolated site.

HLTAID014 provides advanced first aid.

HLTAID015 Offer advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy.

HLTAID016 Manage first aid services and resources.

Not all of these qualifications are provided by Skills Training College.

Practical assessments are used to evaluate first-aid training. Following your face-to-face training, you will be assessed on your competency and understanding of first aid skills, as well as your capacity to react successfully in a practical first aid scenario. There may also be a written assessment.

The CPR assessment is based solely on your ability to do CPR under supervision.

Everyone should learn CPR, first aid or both, regardless of their profession. Knowing these essential life-saving skills enables anyone to have a significant positive effect when an emergency strikes.

Emergency circumstances can occur at any moment. We strongly recommend first aid training to equip individuals with the necessary skills to assist in emergency situations. Completing a first aid or CPR course not only teaches crucial, life-saving skills, but also demonstrates dedication and compassion to potential future employers and leads to professional development opportunities.

A variety of nationally recognised training programmes are offered by Skills Training College. We offer training in first aid as well as other professions including healthcare, security, hospitality, and construction.
