Vomiting
Choking
Asthma

Anaphylaxis
Shock
Broken bones
Dislocations, fractures, sprains, and strains
Our emergency first aid training course lasts for three (3) hours and is conducted in-person with hands-on training. Once you successfully complete the course, you will receive a nationally recognised first aid certificate.
WHO NEEDS A FIRST AID COURSE?
Learning first aid is essential for everyone, regardless of their background or profession. It’s crucial to be equipped with the necessary skills to provide basic emergency life support, which can make a significant difference when it matters the most. Emergencies can happen anywhere, anytime, and knowing how to administer first aid can empower you to intervene and help those in need.
Not only healthcare professionals like doctors, nurses, and paramedics but everyone should have a First Aid certification. First aid emergencies can occur in any workplace, schools, home, or on the street. Obtaining a First Aid certificate can benefit individuals in any profession.
If you have already completed a First Aid course, you can enhance your knowledge by enrolling in other courses that can help you expand your healthcare expertise. Our registered training organization offers a variety of courses like advanced and child first aid programs, which can assist you in broadening your knowledge base.
The CPR certification course, known officially as “Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation,” teaches students to recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies safely.
When you take a CPR course you’ll learn the steps required to confidently provide CPR, mnemonic devices to ensure you remembers the steps of CPR for years after completing your course, and the differences in performing CPR for adults and for children. After your 90 minute face-to-face training, you’ll be rewarded with a nationally recognised statement of attainment, proving your newfound skills and knowledge.
CPR Refresher Course
The Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines strongly recommends that HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation training be retaken every twelve months to ensure your knowledge of CPR techniques remains up-to-date.
Many organisations will require you to take this refresher training to adhere to their first aid compliance. If you ever find yourself in an emergency where you need to provide CPR then you don’t want to struggle to remember what to do, you need the skills to be innate. There’s no need to regularly attend seminars when taking a refresher course is so simple.

No, a first aid certificate does not expire. However, first aid is constantly changing and evolving, and as such it is strongly recommended that first aid refresher training be taken every three years to ensure that your skills and knowledge remain current.
Skills Training College offers refresher courses to ensure your first aid experience never falls behind.
CPR training does not technically expire but should be updated regularly with refresher training. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends taking CPR refresher training every twelve months.
If your first aid certification is lost or stolen, simply reach out to us and we can provide you with the steps that you need to take in order to receive a replacement first aid training certificate.
No, online training is not an option for CPR or first aid. Both first aid and CPR require practical skills which can only be evaluated through face-to-face, onsite training and assessment activities and not through online learning. As such, our first aid training must be conducted on site and we cannot offer an online first aid course.
First aid instruction is assessed through practical, hands-on assessment activities.
To ensure you have the knowledge required, at the conclusion of a first aid course we test your emergency first aid response knowledge and first aid skills. After completing your face-to-face training, skills you will be tested on include your ability to respond effectively and provide basic emergency life support, your ability and knowledge of first aid techniques, your emergency first aid response skills, and your ability to provide first aid assistance in a realistic first aid emergency. There may also be written evaluation.
CPR assessment consists entirely of being observed on your ability to perform CPR under supervision.
Anyone and everyone should take a first aid or CPR course, not just medical professionals.
Knowing these vital, life-saving skills can help you make a real difference. Outside of medical and healthcare professionals, a first aid certificate is particularly beneficial to anyone who works in child care, whether it’s at home or education workers in a school.
Completing CPR is part of a first aid certification. As such, our first aid qualification can be considered further learning from CPR.
Completing an emergency first aid course opens up several avenues of further learning in the field of first aid. Further education opportunities are available in the fields of remote first aid, and first aid for education and care settings. Specific examples include:

HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in a remote or isolated site
