First Aid Course Gosnells

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

The initial name of the first aid course is “HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.” This course aims to educate people on how to handle emergencies, accidents and critical situations. Throughout the course, you will acquire different skills related to emergency first aid response. These skills include cleaning and dressing wounds, using an Epi-Pen correctly, understanding the significance of the recovery position, offering basic emergency life support and effectively describing emergencies over the phone to aid emergency responders.

You’ll also learn how to safely manage the following first aid situations:

  • Vomiting
  • Choking
  • Asthma
  • Bleeding
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Shock
  • Broken bones
  • Dislocations, fractures, sprains, and strains

Our first aid training sessions last for a total of three (3) hours and are conducted in person. During the training, you will have access to reading materials, presentations and engaging hands-on activities. The session will conclude with assessment tasks. Upon successfully finishing the training, you will be awarded a nationally recognised first aid certificate.

WHO NEEDS A FIRST AID COURSE?

Taking a first aid course is something that everyone should seriously consider. Knowing how to administer first aid can truly be a game-changer in critical situations. Emergencies can occur anywhere, whether you’re at work, out and about or somewhere else entirely. Having a basic understanding of first aid equips you with the skills to step in and help during times of crisis. It’s always wise to be prepared for the unexpected.

Every workplace must give first aid the importance it deserves, whether it’s a healthcare facility or not. Emergencies can occur anywhere, be it in an office, school or even at home. Having a first aid certificate can prove advantageous for professionals in any field.

If you have already completed a first aid course consider taking further studies to ensure your skills are at their peak and that you can truly step into any first aid situation. Our other specialties include our advanced first aid course and child first aid courses.

CPR Course Gosnells

Our CPR course goes by the official name of “HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.” It’s specifically designed to educate students on identifying and effectively responding to a cardiac emergency.

Performing CPR is a crucial part of giving initial help, but it needs specific training since it’s a different skill. A CPR course is designed specifically for people who already have a basic grasp of first aid but don’t know CPR or can’t undergo complete first aid training. By enrolling in this course, you’ll gain the essential abilities to offer life-saving aid during emergencies.

Throughout the course, you’ll gain the knowledge of performing CPR systematically. Additionally, you’ll be introduced to clever memory aids that will ensure you remember the CPR steps for a long time. Moreover, you’ll understand the distinctions between administering CPR to adults and children. After successfully finishing the 90-minute in-person training session, you’ll be awarded a nationally recognised certificate that validates your newly acquired abilities.

Skills Training College’s Gosnells CPR courses are conducted from our training venue at Thornlie Ave & Culross Ave, Thornlie. We also offer training from our other locations in Armadale, Fremantle, Joondalup, Innaloo, Midland, Welshpool, Osborne Park, Perth, Rockingham and Subiaco. Our first aid courses are available for $39 per person.

Gosnells CPR Refresher Course

The ARC suggests that people in relevant professions should refresh their CPR training annually. This is important to make sure that the necessary skills become second nature so that in an emergency, one can respond without hesitation.

A CPR refresher course is the same as a regular CPR course in every regard. Courses last for 90 minutes, cost $39 per person, and are conducted from our training room at Thornlie Ave & Culross Ave, Thornlie.

Enrolment & Eligibility

Skills Training College’s courses in first aid and CPR have virtually no entry requirements for students. There are no previous academic or professional qualifications necessary to enrol. However, all students must meet the following minimum criteria to enrol in a first aid course:

  • Basic written and verbal English is needed to engage with the course materials and complete the training and assessment activities.
  • Students must be at least 14 years of age. Any student under the age of 18 must submit a signed Parental Consent Form at least 48 hours before commencement of training.
