An RSA never expires when it has been earned in Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, or Tasmania. However, one will still need to take an RSA bridging course to transfer it to another state, after which it will adopt that state’s expiry limitations.
RSA legislation can change from time to time so it’s recommended you check the relevant state or territory legislation, check your Australian government department website.
While an SA RSA certificate is a nationally recognised statement of attainment, it is not valid outside of the state it was earned in. Unfortunately, there is no universal interstate RSA qualification in Australia.
Yes, most of the time it is possible to transfer your RSA qualification to another state. This is known as RSA bridging. Depending on the state and territory legislation of the area you are transferring to, you may simply be able to apply online, but in other instances taking a separate, RSA bridging course may be necessary.
No, there is no online RSA training or online course. Online courses for RSA are not present anywhere in Australia and cannot be completed online.
As there is no RSA online training, it must be completed in person with a nationally accredited training organisation such as Skills Training College. The different gambling and liquor regulation laws between each state prevent an online training or an online RSA course from being a possibility.
Yes, your South Australian RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) can be revoked under certain circumstances.
The Commissioner for Consumer and Business Services has the authority to suspend or cancel RSA certificates if you breach the relevant laws or regulations. Common reasons for revocation include serious breaches of responsible service obligations, providing false information, or failure to comply with the conditions of your RSA.
It’s crucial to adhere to the RSA guidelines and regulations to maintain the validity of your certificate. If you have specific concerns or questions about your RSA status, it’s advisable to contact the relevant licensing authority for accurate and up-to-date information.
If you lose your RSA statement of attainment you can request a new one. Depending on your state or territory, you will either need to contact the state’s governing RSA body or the registered training organisation with whom you completed your RSA.
An RSA qualification suits anyone who works in the hospitality industry, and there are plenty of beneficial courses that can be earned through our registered training organisation.
