The nationally accredited HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course, is crucial for acquiring the necessary skills to respond to emergencies, accidents, and various critical situations. This first aid course teaches vital emergency response skills including proper wound cleaning and dressing, the correct usage of an Epi-Pen, understanding the crucial recovery position, delivering basic emergency life support, and effectively communicating emergency situations over the phone to assist medical responders. Additionally, the course covers safe management techniques for diverse first aid scenarios such as:
Vomiting
Choking
Asthma
Bleeding
Anaphylaxis
Shock
Broken bones
Dislocations, fractures, sprains, and strains
Our first aid training courses comprise of three (3) hours of in-person, hands-on training. Your session will consist of reading course material, presentations, and practical activities, concluding with assessment activities. Upon your successful completion, you will be awarded with a nationally recognised first aid certificate.

CPR Course DARWIN
The designated title for a CPR training program is HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. This course is designed to instruct students in identifying cardiac emergencies and enacting the appropriate intervention techniques.

The course also covers the variations in administering CPR to adults versus children. Upon completion of the 90-minute in-person training, participants receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment, validating their newly acquired skills and knowledge.
Skills Training College’s Darwin CPR courses are conducted from our training venue at Double Tree Hilton, Level 5, 116 The Esplanade. Our first aid courses are available for $39 per person.
DARWIN CPR Refresher Course
The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) emphasises the importance of renewing CPR training annually. This regular refreshment is key to keeping these vital skills instinctive. In any emergency requiring CPR, it’s crucial to have these procedures deeply ingrained, so you can act swiftly and confidently without hesitation.
CPR refresher courses are the same as regular CPR courses in every aspect. Courses last for 90 minutes, cost $39 per person, and are conducted from our training room at Level 1/345 Ann Street in Darwin’s CBD.
Enrolment & Eligibility
Skills Training College’s first aid and CPR courses are accessible with minimal entry prerequisites. No prior academic or professional qualifications are required for enrollment. Nevertheless, students must satisfy these basic criteria:
Adequate written and verbal English skills are necessary for understanding course materials and successfully completing training and assessments.
Students must be at least 18 years old, or have valid consent from a parent or guardian.
A Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number is required for enrollment. If you have previously studied, you may already possess one, which can be retrieved through an online search.
A fundamental level of fitness and physical capability is essential.

Does a First Aid Certificate Expire?
No, a first aid certificate does not expire. However, first aid is constantly changing and evolving, and as such it is strongly recommended that first aid refresher training be taken every three years to ensure that your skills and knowledge remain current.

Does a CPR Certificate Expire?
Like a first aid certificate, CPR training does not technically expire but should be updated regularly with refresher training. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends taking CPR refresher training every twelve months.

Can a First Aid or CPR Course be Completed Online?
While our courses have online theory elements that can be completed at your leisure, both first aid and CPR require practical skills that can only be evaluated through face-to-face training and assessment activities. As such, our first aid training Darwin courses must be completed on-site.
What Pathways to Further Learning Do These Courses Provide?
Completing a CPR course is part of a first aid certification. As such, a first aid qualification can be considered further learning from a CPR course. Advanced resuscitation qualifications are another example.

These courses are assessed through practical training and assessment activities.
First aid courses test your first aid response knowledge and first aid skills. Skills you will be tested on include your ability to provide basic emergency life support. There may also be written evaluation.
CPR assessment consists entirely of being observed on your ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
