The first aid course is called “HLTAID011 Provide First Aid” and its main goal is to teach individuals how to deal with emergencies, accidents and critical situations. During the course, you will learn various skills related to emergency first aid response. These skills involve treating and covering wounds, using an Epi-Pen properly, recognising the importance of the recovery position, providing basic emergency life support and effectively communicating emergencies to emergency responders over the phone.
You’ll also learn how to safely manage the following first aid situations:
If you choose to attend our first aid training sessions, you can expect a comprehensive experience. The sessions last for a total of three (3) hours and are conducted in person. Throughout the training, you will have access to reading materials, presentations and engaging hands-on activities. The session will conclude with assessment tasks to ensure your understanding. Once you complete the training, you will be awarded a nationally recognised first aid certificate.
It’s crucial for everyone to seriously consider taking a first aid course. Knowing how to administer first aid can truly make a difference in critical situations. Emergencies can happen anywhere, whether you’re at work, out and about, or somewhere else entirely. Having a basic understanding of first aid equips you with the skills to step in and help during times of crisis. It’s always wise to be prepared for the unexpected.
Regardless of the type of workplace, first aid should be given the importance it deserves. Whether it’s a healthcare facility or not, emergencies can occur anywhere, be it in an office, school, or even at home. Having a first aid certificate can prove to be advantageous for professionals in any field.
Being prepared can make a huge difference in these situations because you might not have time to look for instructions. Knowing these skills beforehand is crucial.
If you have already completed a first aid course consider taking further studies to ensure your skills are at their peak and that you can truly step into any first aid situation. Our other specialties include our advanced first aid course and child first aid courses.
Our CPR course, known officially as “HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation,” is specifically designed to educate students on how to identify and effectively respond to a cardiac emergency. We understand that performing CPR is a crucial part of providing initial help and is often covered in many basic first aid courses, but it requires specific training as it is a unique skill. It is also often a separate requirement for certain professions to hold a certification specifically in CPR.
This course is also perfect for individuals who already have a basic understanding of first aid but need to learn CPR or who are unable to undergo complete first aid training. By enrolling in this course, you will acquire the essential abilities to offer life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation assistance during emergencies.
Throughout the course, you will gain knowledge on how to perform CPR systematically. Additionally, we will introduce you to clever memory aids that will ensure you remember the steps of CPR for a long time. You will also learn about the differences in administering CPR to adults versus children. After completing the 90-minute in-person training session, you will be awarded a nationally recognised certificate that validates your newly acquired abilities. This certificate will serve as proof of your competency in providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation for current and future employers.
It’s highly recommended by the ARC that individuals in relevant fields should update their CPR training every year. This is crucial to ensure that the required skills become ingrained in their minds, allowing them to respond swiftly and confidently during emergencies.
A CPR refresher course is the same as a regular CPR course in every regard. Courses last for 90 minutes, cost $39 per person, and are conducted from our training room at 8 Pakenham St, Fremantle.
