Those who want to work in the construction sector must complete the “CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry course.”
The emphasis of this training is on workplace health and safety. Its goal is to lower injuries and give you tools to keep everyone on the site safe. Some of the things you will learn include the following:
Requirements for workplace health and safety
How to recognise dangers and hazards on construction sites
Methods for reporting on health and safety
Procedures for OHS emergencies and incidents
Entry Requirements:
No formal academic requirements
Applicants must be 18 years old or over

Prior To Attendance:
Participants must complete some prereading and a quiz

Written Assessment
Oral Presentation
Practical Demonstrations
Course Requirements:
On the day, present a photo ID
Permit a head, neck, and shoulders photo on the day
Be able to find and recognise the numbers that are frequently used in safety signs
Communicate effectively by asking questions to clarify instructions and pointing out a construction problem or hazard
Notify the office if you require any further literacy or numeracy support
Read and obey simple safety instructions written in English as well as simple safety instructions illustrated in pictures
