ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Getting started in our Gold Coast Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) course is easy! 

There are no previous academic or work experience requirements to enrol. However, there are some minimum eligibility requirements all students have to meet including:

16+ YEARS OLD

Students must be at least 16 years old. Students under the age of 18 must submit a signed Parental Consent Form before starting their course.

ACCESS TO A COMPUTER & INTERNET

Students must have access to a computer and reliable internet connection in order to complete any online components of your course.

WRITTEN & VERBAL

Students must possess basic proficiency in written and verbal English.

PHYSICAL FITNESS

Students must possess basic physical fitness to perform manual tasks such as moving patients.

LEARNING TO FIT YOUR SCHEDULE

Over the course of your certificate you’ll be required to attend a minimum of six in-person, practical sessions including HLTWHS005 – Conduct Manual Tasks Safely.

These sessions are designed to give you crucial hands-on experience that builds your practical knowledge and skills to effectively work in the disability and community care industry.

To complete your disability support course you must complete 120 hours of vocational placement in a relevant industry workplace.

Before commencing work placement you must meet all the following requirements.

If you have previously completed any of the units of competency for this course as part of another qualification and are able to provide us with appropriate evidence you may be not be required to retake those portions of the course. You do not need to take an NDIS worker screening check to enrol in this course. However, certain job roles that will be available to you after completion of your course may require one. Once you’ve received your Certificate III in Individual Support and are ready to start applying for relevant positions, potential future employers should state whether they need an NDIS screening check, or you can reach out to them if you’re not sure.
