WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

In our HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of CPR techniques and principles.

This nationally recognised course focuses on essential skills such as recognising life-threatening situations, proficiently performing chest compressions and rescue breaths, and mastering the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

Throughout the course, you’ll learn to:

ELIGIBILITY & ENROLMENT

Our accredited CPR course welcomes everyone, as it doesn’t require any formal academic background.

All individuals aged 14 and above are eligible to participate in this CPR qualification. However, if you’re under 18, you will need to present a consent form signed by a parent or guardian.

Numeracy and Literacy Requirements:

  • Skills Training College assesses language, literacy, and numeracy skills. Necessary abilities include:
    • Completing incident reports.
    • Effective, assertive communication.
    • Understanding Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.
  • Students not meeting these standards can still enroll with trainer endorsement and supportive strategies.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes while kneeling.

Pre-course Requirements:

  • Completion of pre-course reading and a quiz, requiring basic computer skills and internet access.

COURSE DELIVERY

Our comprehensive 1.5 hour face-to-face class includes cpr training and assessment. During this session, you’ll complete all theoretical and practical aspects of the course under the watchful eye of our experienced and accredited first aid trainers. They’re always available to offer the support and guidance you need. To successfully obtain your CPR certification, the CPR course assessment requires practical demonstration of the skills learned on both an adult and child manikin.

Before you come to the training, it’s essential to go through the first aid learner guide. The time it takes to finish both the guide and the training can vary, depending on your prior knowledge, experience, and skills.

HLTAID009 provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation can also be obtained by completing one of our accredited first aid courses (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting).
