First Aid Course Christie Downs
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is ideal for learning how to respond to crises, injuries, and any medical emergency where people are in need of basic medical care.
During your first aid and CPR course, your experienced first aid trainer will teach you how to wash and bandage injuries, use an Epi-Pen, the importance of the recovery position, and how to appropriately report the situation to the emergency response team over the phone.
Our first-aid training classes will also teach you how to manage the following situations:
Vomiting
Choking
Asthma
Bleeding
Anaphylaxis
Shock
Broken bones
Dislocation, fractures, sprains, and strains
After three hours of trainer-led instruction which includes readings, lectures, demonstrations, and practical training exercises, our first aid certification lessons conclude with a written exam and a practical evaluation. Following that, you will receive a nationally recognised certificate in first aid, demonstrating your newly gained knowledge and abilities.
WHO NEEDS A FIRST AID COURSE?
Learning first aid is crucial. Everyone should be prepared to deal with unexpected emergencies at home, work, or in public places. Taking a first aid training course can make all the difference. Our Christie Downs first aid training can equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to help in such situations.
First aid skills can be applied in a variety of scenarios and can help save lives. Everyone can benefit from studying first aid, and our course makes it possible for anybody, not just healthcare professionals, to do so.
By taking one of our courses, you will be confident and prepared to assist in the event of any emergency.
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation provides students with the knowledge and skills to recognise cardiac arrest and properly deliver resuscitation.
Although CPR skills are addressed in first aid training, CPR is also a separate field. If you lack the skills to perform CPR or cannot fit a complete first aid course into your busy schedule, a CPR training course is an excellent option.
A CPR training course will educate you how to treat an unconscious person, as well as the variations between CPR on adults and children. Following the ninety-minute in-person session, you will get a statement of achievement that is recognised across Australia.
CHRISTIE DOWNS CPR REFRESHER COURSE
The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends annual CPR refresher training to ensure consistent and current knowledge of CPR techniques. Certain organisations may also need periodic retraining for staff in order to ensure compliance with their first aid requirements.
If you ever find yourself in an emergency scenario and need to perform CPR, you should be able to do it instinctively and without hesitation, and refresher training can help you make the procedures second nature.

CRICOS Approved Training
Our courses are available for both domestic and international students.
In some locations of Australia, we can provide online or hybrid training choices. In general, Christie Downs does not offer online CPR or first aid training. Both first aid and CPR necessitate practical skills that are best assessed through in-person, face-to-face training and assessment activities, not through online learning. As a result, our first aid training must be completed on-site, and we are unable to provide online first aid courses in this circumstance.
Everyone, not just medical professionals, should consider taking a first aid or CPR course. It’s especially useful for childcare workers. First aid and CPR training demonstrate dedication and passion, opening the door to professional progress.
Completing a first aid course provides various opportunities for additional learning in the field of first aid. Additional education possibilities exist in the fields of remote first aid and first aid for education and care settings. Specific examples include:
HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
HLTAID013 Provide First Aid in a remote or isolated site
HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid
HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy
HLTAID016 Manage first aid services and resources
Not all of these qualifications are available through Skills Training College.
