WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is essential if you wish to be prepared to deal with any kind of medical emergency, from harmless cuts to more intense accidents.

Some of the first aid response skills you’ll learn in our comprehensive first aid course include wound cleaning and dressing, how to properly use an Epi-Pen, the recovery position, basic emergency life support, preparing first aid kits, and how to explain an emergency scenario effectively over the phone to best assist emergency personnel.

You’ll also learn how to safely manage the following first aid situations:

  • Vomiting
  • Choking
  • Asthma
  • Bleeding
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Shock
  • Broken bones
  • Dislocations, fractures, sprains, and strains

Our first aid classes consist of three hours of hands-on training. You will spend the day studying readings, presentations, and performing practical exercises, and will finish with some evaluation activities. Upon completion of the course, you will be granted a first aid certificate.

WHO NEEDS A FIRST AID COURSE?

Everyone ought to sign up for a first aid course. No matter where you are or what you’re doing, an emergency can happen at any time. By enrolling today, you can make a difference in the event of an emergency.

First aid is essential for all businesses and employees. Anyone, not only medical professionals, can and should develop these abilities. First aid emergencies can occur at any location, including in your own home, in schools, and at businesses. It is safe to state that first aid qualifications are beneficial in all industries.

CPR COURSE HAMPTON

A CPR training course is officially known as Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Students will learn how to recognise the signals of a cardiac emergency and how to respond effectively in such a case.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a field in its own right but is also included in first aid training. If you’re familiar with first aid but not CPR, or if you’re too busy to take a full first aid course, CPR training is a great option for emergency preparedness.

CPR training teaches proper technique and uses mnemonic devices to aid memory retention of these essential skills under the intense pressure of an emergency situation. You’ll also learn the difference between CPR for adults and children.

After completing the 90-minute in-person training session, you will receive a nationally recognised certificate demonstrating your knowledge and abilities.

CHELTENHAM CPR Refresher Course

To maintain essential CPR abilities, the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommends training every 12 months. You should be able to conduct CPR instinctively, and refresher training helps ensure that you don’t forget what to do in an emergency.

Enrolment & Eligibility

Our first aid, CPR, and CPR refresher training courses have no academic or work experience based requirements to enrol. All students need to do is to meet the following basic prerequisites:

  • Students will need a basic understanding of both written and verbal English. This ensures they’re equipped to understand the course training materials and their trainer.
  • Students must be at least 14 years of age. Any student under the age of 18 must submit a signed Parental Consent Form at least 48 hours before commencement of training
  • Students will require a Unique Student Identifier (USI) Number. If you’ve studied before you may already have one which you can find by searching online.
  • Basic levels of fitness and physical ability

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A first-aid certificate is valid indefinitely. However, because first aid is a constantly growing area, it is strongly recommended that you attend a refresher course every three years to keep your skills up to date.

Although CPR certification does not officially expire, it is critical to renew it with refresher courses on a regular basis, just like a first aid certificate. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends taking a CPR refresher course every 12 months.

If your first aid certificate is stolen, damaged or misplaced, contact us for instructions on obtaining a replacement. If you lose your certificate and find yourself in a situation that requires first aid, you will be able to step in and help until professional medical assistance arrives, even if you are still waiting for a replacement certificate.

Unfortunately, CPR and first aid courses cannot be completed online. In-person training and testing are required to assess performance in these areas. We cannot offer online learning and can only deliver instruction at our in-person training venues.

Everyone, not just medical professionals, should learn CPR and first aid. In particular, everyone who works with children, whether at home or in schools, would significantly benefit from getting first aid or CPR certification.

Emergency situations can occur at any workplace. We strongly recommend receiving first aid training to assist in any emergency situation. Learning CPR and first aid indicates your career dedication and may lead to future employment prospects and continued professional development.

These courses are taught and assessed based on your practical experience. Courses in first aid assess both your knowledge and competence to respond to medical situations. Written assessment tasks are also possible. CPR evaluation is solely based on a practical demonstration observed by your trainer.
