First Aid Course Belmont

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid covers a wide range of emergency first aid techniques, such as how to properly treat and dress wounds, use an Epi-Pen, the importance of the recovery position, administration of basic emergency life support, and how to best notify emergency responders about an incident over the phone. The course also covers how to safely handle a variety of specific first aid circumstances, including:

  • Vomiting
  • Choking
  • Asthma
  • Bleeding
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Shock
  • Broken bones
  • Dislocations, fractures, sprains, and strains

Our first aid training sessions take three (3) hours of practical, in-person training. Each session consists of a combination of readings, lectures, and practical exercises that end with assessment tasks. Participants receive a nationally recognised first aid certificate upon satisfactory completion of the course.

WHO NEEDS A FIRST AID COURSE?

The importance of a first aid training is immeasurable. Everyone should think about enrolling in one, regardless of their profession or what industry they work in. First aid training makes you capable of providing vital first aid in any situation, whether at work, on the streets, or at home. It gives you the ability to act quickly and effectively in life-threatening situations.

When unexpected medical situations occur you might not be able to help if you don’t possess the necessary first aid skills. In these urgent moments, there’s no time to read up on what to do, the experience and knowledge needed to intervene can only be attained through prior training.

If you’ve already completed a first aid course, consider taking further training to to best ensure you can handle any first aid situation. Our first aid speciality programmes include courses in advanced first aid as well as first aid specifically designed for education childcare settings.

CPR COURSE BELMONT

Students who complete HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation will be able to recognise cardiac emergencies and know how to safely react.

While CPR training is included in first aid, a CPR course is specialised for people who already know how to handle medical emergencies but lack CPR knowledge or who don’t have time to complete a full-length first aid course but still want to help in an emergency.

You will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment at the end of your 90-minute in-person training session, demonstrating to your freshly gained expertise and abilities.

The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommends CPR training be repeated yearly. It’s important to have these abilities thoroughly ingrained so that, in an emergency where CPR is required you can remember them naturally.
