Why do CPR?

The obvious answer is that  CPR and defibrillation save lives. It’s the first thing that comes to most people’s minds when they consider doing a first aid course. What’s more, CPR skills are necessary for all sorts of occupations. For instance, teachers, nurses and even flight attendants have to know how to do CPR or ought to. CPR combines firmly pushing the chest in the correct place and blowing air into the casualty’s lungs to keep oxygenated blood flowing to major organs when a person is not breathing and their heart has stopped. Performing this lifesaving procedure means that before the ambulance arrives you can prevent death or permanent brain damage.
